Having resided in Charlotte for over 20 years, I can say I am a "Charlottean." And I love it! From its rich history to its professional, nationally acclaimed cultural arts, sports, and music, it's no wonder why so many people from other cities are relocating to Charlotte calling it "their final destination."

I started my career as a financial analyst for a Fortune 500 firm immediately after graduating from the UNC Chapel Hill. Having started investing in real estate as a hobby, I have since become a full-timer. I now am half owner of Oak Realty, LLC and manage several of my own properties.

I LOVE sports, so it's no surprise to say I follow our NBA Bobcats and NFL Panthers religiously. With baseball slated to arrive soon to Uptown, I will have another team to cheer! It's also wonderful having the luxury to make annual trips to the mountains and to our nationally acclaimed beaches.

Over the years, I gained knowledge of the Charlotte market. With additional skills in corporate finance and investment planning, I can ensure my clients that their real estate experience with me is not only a pleasant, but "solid." I currently reside in the NoDa Arts District. Here, we have dynamic pubs, live music, friendly neighbors, famous art shows, and a pet friendly environment. Come experience all the hidden gems Charlotte offers, and you too will call it your "final destination!"

Alex Horstman, Jr.

Originally from Seattle, Washington, I came to Charlotte in 1998, via Boulder Colorado, where I earned my MFA in Printmaking and Digital Imaging. I moved to Blowing Rock, NC in 1997, when I accepted a full-time tenure-track position at Appalachian State University in Boone.

I've worn many hats which included being a professional concert dancer, graphic designer, and corporate trainer in paper and web-based media. After ten years, I call Charlotte my home.

My interest in architectural history led me to settle in the NoDa Arts District. The richness of Charlotte's textile industry is very much reflected in this former mill village. No place else in Charlotte is such architectural history this preserved. I have a hundred and four year old mill home which I renovated in 2003. I love walking to the galleries, restaurants, shops, and theatres.

I enjoy outdoor sports like skiing, hiking, and rock climbing. I train and participate in triathlons. I help start the Metrolina Aids Project Triathlon in 2000. Cooking is a passion for me and my sweet and savory tarts are becoming legend in the realtor community. I love to travel visiting countries of different cultures. Seeing ruins of civilizations thousands of years old bring a sense of perspective in how I live.
